Surrounded by joy and love, Elizabeth Vernette Harris was welcomed to this world on February 20, 1949. She was born to Mother Julia Mae Felton Turner and the late Mr. Harrelson Wallace in Crisp County, Georgia.
Educated in the public schools of Crisp County, she was affectionately known to her family and friends as "Liz." She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Beulahland Baptist Church where she served as secretary of the Usher Board. She later moved her membership to New Oak Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Hosie Waters. She was a resolute and faithful member. Whatever she was asked or could do for her church she did humbly.
Liz was blessed with a caring heart. She loved her children and grandchildren and proudly took exceptional care of her mother. There were not too many moments when she could not be found spending time with her. Liz loved fishing and shopping. She also enjoyed playing her Lotto numbers and buying her scratch off tickets.
On Saturday, June 1, 2024, our beloved peacefully transitioned from life to life everlasting. Along with her father, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Kathey, Irene, and Lula.
Many memories of her life will forever be cherished by her loving and devoted mother, Mother Julia Mae Felton Turner of Cordele, Georgia; her loving and devoted daughter, Ms. Angela (Lafabian) Taylor of Cordele, Georgia; her godson, Mr. Courtney Coley of Cordele, Georgia; her loving and caring grandchildren, Mr. Rontavius (Tamarrasheka) Lavant of Cordele, Georgia and Ms. Shakeidra (Jimmy) Lavant of Albany, Georgia; her great grandchildren, Kylan Lavant and Raelynn Lavant; a loving sister, Ms. Eula Little of Cordele, Georgia; a host of loving nieces and nephews; many cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include her special friends, Ms. Glory Pollock of Cordele, Georgia, Ms. Janie Miller of Atlanta, Georgia, Ms. Mary Searcy of Cordele, Georgia, Ms. Lois Weaver of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Mrs. Mary Blanks of Cordele, Georgia.
