Ms. Elizabeth Diana Johnson Burt of 136 Hosanna Circle,  Americus, Georgia, died Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM, in the sanctuary of the Allen Chapel A. M. E. Church in Americus, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Eastview Cemetery in Americus, Georgia.

On January 4, 1963, in Americus, Georgia, a precious gift was given to the world through the lives of Mr. James Crumbley and Mrs. Catherine Johnson Cross. They named their daughter Elizabeth Diana Johnson—a name chosen with dignity, reflecting the grace and strength she carried throughout her life.

Affectionately known as Diana, she was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and nurtured her spiritual foundation at Allen Chapel AME Church, where she accepted Christ at a young age. Her faith became the cornerstone of her life, guiding her as a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Diana was a woman of great resilience and remarkable heart. She worked diligently at Williams Dry Cleaner, where she was known for her work ethic and attention to detail, but her true gifts shined brightest at home and in her community. She had a special talent for bringing people together, whether through her delicious home-cooked meals, her lively storytelling, or her infectious laughter at family gatherings. She could fill a room with warmth, faith, and joy.

She always cheered at family celebrations, enjoyed the thrill of scary movies, and shared wisdom with her children and grandchildren, and always made time for the church she cherished.

On Sunday, August 31, 2025, Diana peacefully transitioned from her earthly labor to her heavenly reward while at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit continues to live on in every life she touched.

She was welcomed into eternity by her loving parents, Rev. James Crumbley and Katherine Johnson, her grandson Alex Terrell Foster, and her Aunt Bertha Crumbley.

Diana leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and family that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She is celebrated and cherished by her beloved children: Tarrence Johnson, Priscilla (Travis, Sr.) Streeter of Houston, Texas, David Lee Foster Jr., and Myeisha Johnson of Americus, GA.

Her memory will be kept alive in the hearts of her many grandchildren: Bailey Foster, Koremia Johnson, DeSiya Johnson, Cameron Biggins, Darrious Clemons, Kevious Johnson, Java Whitaker, Korie Johnson, Ni'kiera (Sileio) Aguilar, Chance Streeter of Houston, Texas, Travis Streeter Jr. of Albany, Georgia, David Lee Foster III, and Damarian Foster. Her great-grandchildren, Truth and Truly Aguilar, were her pride and joy. She also leaves behind her devoted siblings: Mrs. Tracy Ellis, Mrs. Bertha (Jesse) Banks, Ms. Lisa Davis, Delois Crumbley, Dr. Tomeika (Frank) Davis, Ms. Linda Crumbley, Donnie Crumbley, Dennis Leon Robinson, Derrick (Chundra) Mitchell, and Robert Lee Davis Jr. Her extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends—especially her devoted cousin Joseph Peters—will remember her fondly. Special friends Monica Barron, Waldell Wright, and Reginald Mathis stood by her side through life's seasons, offering support and companionship.

Her life reminds us that faith, family, and love are the true measures of legacy.
