Mr. Edward Charles Curry of 319 Railroad Street, Oakfield, Georgia died Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Pruitt Health-Sylvester in Sylvester, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Zion Grove Baptist Church in Oakfield, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Oakfield, Georgia.
Mr. Edward Charles Curry was born on March 4, 1957, in Worth County, Georgia, into a loving family. He was the son of Mr. Robert Lee Curry, Sr. and Mrs. Susie Mae Morris Curry, both of whom preceded him in death. Edward grew up in Worth County, where he received his education through the local public school system.
A devout member of the Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Oakfield, Georgia, Edward was under the spiritual guidance of Reverend Tiller Sims. He was a dedicated usher, always ready to lend a helping hand to his fellow church members and friends. His love for gospel music was evident as he became a valued member of the Gospel Travelers of Oakfield, Georgia, sharing his joy and passion for music with those around him.
Edward was a man of many interests. He found peace and joy in fishing and cooking, often spending quality time with his family. His love for his children and grandchildren was unwavering, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Additionally, Edward enjoyed engaging in number games, which kept him entertained.
Edward's legacy of love, faith, and community service will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him. His memory will be cherished and celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life
Edward Charles Curry transitioned on Thursday, May 1, 2025. His passing marked the end of a life filled with love, community service, and family devotion. Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Reverend Joseph Hoskins.
Edward leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever: his children: Mr. Dezmond Hope of Sylvester, Georgia, and Ms. Sherita Brown of Cordele, Georgia; his grandchildren, Kaviyah Taylor, Serriyah McKenzie, Ollia Harper, Terrenasia Turner, and Journil Dennis; his great grandson, Ja'Korian Harris; his bonus daughter, Ms. Adrienne Hope of Sylvester, Georgia; his sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Jean (Bonnie) Byrd of Oakfield, Georgia, Mrs. Gwendolyn Hoskins of Leesburg, Georgia, Mrs. Gloria (Reverend Eddie) Gaint of Albany, Georgia, and Mrs. Cassandra (Broderick) Evans of Sylvester, Georgia; his brothers, Mr. Ricky Lewis Curry of Oakfield, Georgia, Mr. Nathaniel (Audrey) Curry of Warwick, Georgia, Mr. Wayne (Michelle) Curry and Mr. Michael Curry of Oakfield, Georgia, and Mr. Edward J. (Kim) Curry of Leesburg, Georgia; his aunts and uncle, Mrs. Ora Lee Morris of Warwick, Georgia, and Mr. Charlie Will (Bonnie) Morris of Albany, Georgia; his nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends, including Mr. Raymond Young of Oakfield, Georgia, and Mr. Joe Williams of Warwick, Georgia.
