Mr. Edward Alexander Carter of 409 West 21st Avenue, Cordele, Georgia, died Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services must wear a mask and practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your mask.

Edward Alexander Carter, born on August 26, 1980, in Cordele, Georgia, was a cherished son, father, and friend whose life was filled with love, dedication, and passion. His journey began in the heart of Cordele, where he attended Crisp County High School and later honed his skills in a trade that led him to a career at Griffin Lumber Company.

Edward grew up surrounded by family and faith, attending the New Oak Grove Baptist Church. His formative years in Cordele were marked by the values instilled in him by his community and family. These early experiences laid the foundation for his hardworking and compassionate nature.

Edward had a zest for life, which he expressed through his hobbies and   interests. He found peace and joy in fishing, a pastime that connected him to nature and provided moments of serenity. Cooking was another of his passions; he delighted in preparing meals for family and friends, often bringing people together around the dinner table. Furthermore, Edward was a die-hard fan of the Minnesota Vikings, supporting his favorite team with unwavering enthusiasm.

Edward Alexander Carter passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and community. His life was a testament to the power of family bonds and the impact of a life lived with passion and sincerity

Family was at the core of Edward's world. Though he was preceded in death by his mother, Edwina Carter Jordan, and his grandfather, Isiah Carter, Sr., Edward leaves behind a large and loving family to celebrate his memory, son, Paden Amir Carter of Cordele, Georgia; his father, Elbert (Mary) Terry of Cordele, Georgia; his grandmother, Hattie Carter of  Cordele, Georgia; his sisters, Angela Carter Robinson of Kansas City,   Kansas and Sabrina Shivers of Atlanta, Georgia; his brother, Kenneth Carter and Calvin Carter, both of Cordele, Georgia; his uncles, Benjamin Carter and Isiah Carter, Jr., both of Cordele, Georgia, Paul Carter of Ashburn, Georgia, Arthur Carter of Chiefland, Florida, Steve (Melinda) Williams, Michael Williams, and Roosevelt (Phyllis) Williams, all of Cordele, Georgia; his aunt, Melba Carter and Dorothy King, both of Cordele,   Georgia; his nieces, DeAngela, Ashley, Jessica Robinson of Kansas City, Kansas, and Kenley Carter of Cordele, Georgia; his nephew, Calvin Carter, Jr. of Sylvester, Georgia; a devoted friend, Andrea Tukes of Cordele,   Georgia; his special godparents, Reverend Choice and Mrs. Debra Cobb of Cordele, Georgia; a host of cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
