United States Army Veteran, Mr. Eddie Hester, Jr. of 136 South Landline Road, Pineview, Georgia died Saturday, October 1, 2022 at his residence.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Myriax Chapel CME Church in Pineview, Georgia.  The burial, with military honors, will follow at the Mount Air Cemetery in Pineview, Georgia. Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

Mr. Eddie Hester Jr. was born December 26, 1928, in Houston County, Georgia. He was born to Mr. Eddie Hester, Sr. and Mrs. Christine Coley.

A Time to Learn

He was a self-made and self-taught man, who accomplished many feats beyond immeasurable circumstances.

A Time to Work

Throughout his life, Eddie Hester, Jr. donned many hats. He was the restaurant owner of Hester and Webb House of Steak & Oxtails, alongside his wife Mrs. Janie Lou Hester. He also worked as a long-haul truck driver and farmer for many years.

A Time to Mourn

Eddie's parents, wife of 63 years, Mrs. Janie Lou Hester, daughter, Mrs. Vivian L. Hester Hall and two sisters, Mrs. Roberta Hester Lawrence and Mrs. Bernice Kellogg, preceded him in death.

A Time to Remember

Eddie Hester, Jr. will always be remembered as the sole patriarch of his family, a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose selfless and generous spirit will permeate in all our lives. His caring and altruistic nature was revealed in the way he tended to his garden and shared his love for fishing and agriculture with his children and friends. He also enjoyed baseball and was part of his team "The Orioles" in his early years.

A Time to Rest

On Friday, September 30, 2022, the Lord called Mr. Eddie Hester, Jr. home to rest. He leaves to mourn his passing; two daughters, Ms. Gail Bethune of Pineview, Georgia and Ms. Bridget Brown of Atlanta, Georgia; six beloved grandchildren; Tyesha Hester of North Dakota, Fatihah Bethune of Linden, New Jersey, Sade Chism, Lindel Brown, and Travis Brown all of Atlanta, Georgia, and James Hall, Jr. of Florida; four beloved     great-grandchildren, Khadijah Bethune of Pineview, Georgia, who he raised as his own, Sekhem Johnson, Emery Chism and Aiko Brown all of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Mr. JD Reeves of Anniston, Alabama; one aunt, Mrs. Ruby Jones of Cincinnati, Ohio; a beloved son-in-law, Mr. Medford Brown, a grandson-in-law, Keshanti Chism, his nieces, Ms. Josett Oden of Conyers, Georgia and Ms. Jeri Walker of Miami, Florida; a host of other nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and many friends to include his close friends, James Reed, Alejandro Acosta, and Jamil Chism.
