Mr. Dwight Tyrone McKever of 310 West 25th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia died Monday, April 1, 2024 at the Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Pleasant Valley Church Cemetery in Pinehurst, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

Dwight Tyrone McKever was born in Cordele, Crisp County, Georgia.  He was born to the proud parentage of Walter McKever, Sr. and Lula Mae McKever on November 24, 1967. As a child he was introduced the Lord at Gethsemane Baptist Church.  As a adult he continued his walk with the Lord at the New Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Dwight was educated in the public schools of Crisp County.  He was a proud 1987 graduate of Crisp County High School.  Years later, he could still be found keeping up with the latest edition of Cougar athletes.

Dwight enjoyed spending time with family, he possessed a great love for his only daughter.  In all facets of his life, Dwight was known for his infectious spirit. Most days he could be spotted wearing his shades and his hats.  A lover of music and "his" Atlanta Falcons, Dwight enjoyed having a good time.  He also loved his "big boy" plates.

Dwight concluded his earthly journey on Monday, April 1, 2024.  His parents, Walter & Lula, both precede him in death.  He is also preceded in death by his sister Donna Faye McKever; his brother, Larry McKever; his grandmother, Georgia Mae Simmons; his aunts and uncle, Robert Bryant, Otha Lee Styles, Shirley Jackson, and Linda Porter.

Dwight is survived by his loving and caring family; his beloved companion, Darquita Byron of Cordele, Georgia; his daughter Makayla McKever of Cordele, Georgia; his sister, Kimberley L. Reaves of Warner Robins, Georgia; his brothers, Terry McKever (Everlene) of Adrian, Georgia, Walter McKever, Jr. of Cordele, Georgia, Michael McKever (Evangeline) of Union City, Georgia, Scotty McKever (Carmen) of Riverdale, Georgia and Reginald McKever (Rashonda) of Cordele, Georgia; his aunt and uncle, Thelma Hall and Jimmy Simmons of Decatur, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews; many cousins, to include, Patricia Styles and James Bleach of Cordele, Georgia; other relatives; his devoted friends of many years, Jerry Lester (Patricia) and Hattie Chaney of Cordele, Georgia; a host of other friends, to include, Frederick Smith, The Colson Family, The Reese Family, Marcus Gee, Rodney Davis, Gastavius Lane and Melvin Redding of Cordele,Georgia.
