United States Marine Corps Veteran, Mr. Dwain Leon Smith, Sr. of Salina, Kansas died Thursday, March 3, 2022.

The graveside funeral service with military honors will be Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Vienna City Cemetery in Vienna, Georgia.  Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

Dwain Leon Smith was born September 2, 1961 in Dooly County, Georgia.  He was born to the late Ms. Josephine Smith and the late Mr. George Hill, Jr.

Educated in the public school system of Dooly County, he was a 1980 graduate of Vienna High School.  While in high school he was a member of  Marching Band where he played the saxophone.  Upon the completion of high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.  He served his country with honor and distinction and received an Honorable discharge.

On Thursday, March 3, 2022, Dwain peacefully transitioned from this life.  He leaves cherished memories to his loving and devoted family,  his wife, Mrs. Gloria Jean Collins Smith of Wichita, Kansas; his children, Mr. Dwain Leon Smith, Jr. and Mrs. Lakenya Williams and her husband, Mr. Terrell Williams, Sr. of Wichita, Kansas; his granddaughters, Saniyah Williams, Jada Smith, and Sincere Smith; his grandsons, Tiyah Williams, Terrell   Williams, Jr., Tre'sjuan Smith, and Jaden Smith; his sisters, Ms. Patricia Hill of Cordele, Georgia, Mrs. Cenitha Redding and Ms. Tabatha Carter both of Vienna, Georgia, Ms. Sabrina Smith of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Ms. Catina Benoit of Apopka, Florida; his caring brothers, Mr. Wayne (Melissa) Smith of Leesburg, Georgia, Mr. Michael (Adrienne) Hardy of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Kelvin Smith of Pittsburgh, Kansas, and Mr. Curtis Smith of Vienna,  Georgia; his aunts and uncles, Mrs. Carol Smith, Mrs.  Betty Loyd, Mrs. Ruth Jones, Mrs. Virginia Price, Mrs. Cathy Dixon, Mrs. Barbara Thomas, Ms. Linda Hill, Mrs. Bobbie Jean (John Henry) Bembry, Mr. Ricky Hill, Mr. Randall Hill, Mr. Bobby Joe Smith, Mr. Edward (Martha) Smith, and Mr. Joseph Smith; his nephews, Mr. Kurtavius Smith, Mr. Latravis Evans, Jr., Mr. Quinntavious Evans, Mr. Zykerrionne Smith, Mr. Trevorrian Bryant, Mr. Landris Bowens, Mr. Corre Anderson, Mr. Samaj Redding, Mr. Quadarius Hardy, and Mr. Calvin Smith, Jr.; his nieces, Ms. Ny'keria Cobb, Ms. Jabary Smith, Ms. Kenyotta Smith, Ms. Princess Smith, Ms. Kayla Hardy, Ms. Alicia Smith; other nieces and nephews, many cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
