Mrs. Doris Clark Stanley of 2318 Culpepper Road, Cordele, Georgia died Sunday, June 2, 2024 at her residence.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Davis Chapel Church Cemetery in Arabi, Georgia.
On October 19, 1945, our beloved Doris Clark Stanley was welcomed to this world. She was born in Crisp County, Georgia to the late John Lee Clark, Sr., and the late Corene Hendley.
Doris was enrolled and received her education from the public schools of Crisp County. She was one of the proud students who attended the A. S. Clark High School.
She accepted the Lord, Jesus Christ and faithfully worshiped at the Davis Chapel CME Church. Doris genuinely loved going to church.
Doris shared her life with her beloved husband, Bennett Stanley, Jr. Together they shared many years until his passing on July 24, 2018.
On Sunday, June 2, 2024, our beloved mother and grandmother traded the cares of this life for an everlasting life. We shall be forever grateful for the many memories she leaves to her family and friends.
Her life and love will forever be remembered by her loving and devoted children, Delores Martin and Linda (Eric) Marlin of Cordele, Georgia, Robert (Shikina) Harris of Bonaire, Georgia, Dominic Harris and Sabrina Harris of Sarasota, Florida and Kurt Stanley of Italy; 14 loving grandchildren, to include, Eric Marlin, Jr. of Griffin, Georgia, Natasha Jones, Krystal Martin, Tionne Martin, Trenecia Harris and Kerron Harris of Cordele, Georgia, and Marshall Graham of Warner Robins, Georgia; 26 great grandchildren; her loving sisters, Irenett Crapp and Dorothy (Reverend Ivory) Corbin of Cordele, Georgia; her beloved brother, Kent Clark of Cordele, Georgia; her mother-in-law, Rosa Stanley of Dublin, Georgia; many nieces and nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
