Ms. Doris Ann Jackson better known as "Lucy" of 1002 South 8th Street, Cordele, Georgia died Sunday, April 7, 2024 at her residence.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 14, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

The union of James Jackson and Daisy Williams Jackson was blessed with the birth of a daughter on August 13, 1964.  Born in Homerville, Clinch County, Georgia, she was named Doris Ann.

She was affectionately known to everyone as "Lucy".  Upon moving to Crisp County, she received her education from the public school system.

A believer in Jesus Christ, she accepted him as her Savior.  She united with the Odom Grove Baptist Church.

Lucy loved family.  She enjoyed creating special memories with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Aside from enjoying family outings, she also enjoyed cooking.

On Sunday, April 7, 2024, Lucy traded the cares of this life and peacefully slipped away.  Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by sister, Barbara Jackson; her brothers, Ivory Lee Williams, Jr. and Earl Lee Jackson; and her grandparents, Otis Williams, Jr. and Lois Dixon Williams.

Cherishing her life and her memory, she leaves her loving and devoted children, O'Tario L. Jackson (Aaronyce McKensey) of Cordele, Georgia, Valencia N. Cooks of Tifton, Georgia, Steve L. Williams, Jr. of Aiken, South Carolina, and Rontavius J. Jackson (Aleia Harper) of Cordele, Georgia; 25 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her loving sisters, Sarah B. Jackson of Cordele, Georgia, Virginia Jackson Spivey of Fort Pierce, Florida, Patricia (Willie) White and Chineata Jackson of Cordele, Georgia; her beloved brothers, Andrew (Sandra) Jackson of Cordele, Georgia and Johnny Jackson of Warner Robins, Georgia; an aunt, Wilhelmina Williams of Cordele, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Mary Williams of Miami, Florida; a host of nieces and nephews, to include, Angela Miller of Fort Pierce, Florida, Jacqueline Shiloh-Wright of Jacksonville, Florida, Amanda Jackson of Ohio, Tabatha Jackson, Lashonda Jackson and Ray Jackson of Cordele, Georgia; a host of cousins, other relatives and man sorrowing friends, to include, a close friend, Tony Johnson of Cordele, Georgia and Maleta Jackson of Cordele, Georgia.
