Mrs. Doretha Childs Williams Peacock of 519 Gregory Street, Vienna, Georgia died Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.

The memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Cordele, Georgia.

Mrs. Doretha Childs Williams Peacock was born March 27, 1937, in Dooly County, Georgia. She was one of sixteen children born to the union of the late Mr. Willie Childs and the late Mrs. Maggie Curgil Childs.

As a child, Doretha united with the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Dooling, Georgia. She was educated in the public schools of Dooly County, where she graduated from Vienna High and Industrial School.

She was united in marriage with Willie C. Williams, and they moved to California, where he served in the military. To this union was born one daughter, Shelia Williams. While living in California, she joined the ministry of Jehovah's Witnesses in the Kingdom Hall and devoted herself to a ministry of service. After moving back to Georgia and following the death of Willie C. Williams, she later married Luther Peacock, who passed away in 1994.

On Saturday, September 6, 2025, Doretha made her transition from this life to life external.

Cherished memories live in the hearts of two devoted grandchildren, Ms. Stephanie Williams, of Vienna, GA, and Mr. Christopher Williams, of Fort Valley, GA; three great-grandchildren, Christopher J. Merrell, Tianna   Williams, and Adryionah Williams of Fort Valley, GA; two loving sisters, Mrs. Eulene Matthews of Atlanta, GA and Mrs. Barbara Seaberry of Orangeburg, SC; a devoted niece, Ms. Millicent Murph of Columbia SC, Mrs. Ann (Wayman) Jessie of Warner Robins, GA, Ms. Angelia Childs and Ms. Loretta Walters of Vienna, GA, Ms. Joan Cochran of Columbia, SC, Ms. Yvette Warren of Philadelphia, PA, Mrs. Elaine (Hoa) Lauridson of Atlanta, GA, Mr. Marcus Matthews and Mr. Malcolm Matthews of Atlanta, GA, Mrs. Linda (Charles) Phillips, and Mr. Melvin Trice of Cincinnati, OH, Ms. Renee Mapp and Mr. Steve Mapp of Atlanta, GA.

Several additional nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and a host of friends and the Jehovah's Witness Congregation.
