Donnie Lewis was born on May 6, 1960, in Vienna, Georgia. He was the beloved son of Ossie Lee Lewis, Sr. and Elizabeth Wright Lewis. Donnie's early years were spent in the warmth and community spirit of Dooly County, where he attended public schools, laying the foundation for a lifetime of joy with family and friends.

Donnie's spiritual journey began early in life when he joined the Holly Grove Baptist Church. His faith guided him through both joyful and challenging times.

Donnie was a man of many passions. He found peace and joy in the simple pleasure of fishing, often spending serene days by the water. Family gatherings and cookouts were a source of happiness for him, as he loved nothing more than the company of loved ones. Known for his card-playing skills, Donnie was famous for executing the "Dooly County shuffle," a testament to his clever and fun-loving spirit. Music and dancing were also close to his heart, bringing rhythm and movement to his life.

Those who knew Donnie will always remember his kindness, humor, and the love he shared with everyone around him. His presence will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire and bring joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him.  Donnie transitioned from this life on August 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ossie Lewis, Jr., and his grandparents, Louise Lewis, Obbie Wright, Leola Lewis, and Bit Lewis.
