Mrs. Delois Royal Rawls of 1206 North 11th Street, Cordele, Georgia died Sunday, August 20, 2023 at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Crisp County Middle School Auditorium in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing. A mask must be worn throughout the stay. You must supply your own mask.
A wonderful blessing was born to Buford Royal, Sr. and the late Pastor Eddie Mae Blount Royal on August 16, 1953. They named their blessing, Delois.
Born in Crisp County, Lois, as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Crisp County.
Lois loved the Lord and the people of God. She served him willingly with a humble heart at Mount Calvary Hill Holiness Church.
A lover of people, Lois especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren like they were her own. A "pillar of the community" she enjoyed spending special moments with her family. Her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
On Sunday, August 20, 2023, our beautiful and wonderful blessing was set free from the cares of this life. Along with her mother, she is preceded in death by her beloved grandchildren, Lupurchia Brown and Kurtavious Butts.
Her life and her love will forever be cherished by her loving and devoted family, her husband, Arnett Rawls of Cordele, Georgia; her children, Ricky (Fonda) Hudson of Fort Valley, Georgia, Tonya Hudson (Raymond) Appiah and Will Hudson, Jr. of Cordele, Georgia; her bonus children, Keronardo Rawls and Jasmene Taylor of Cordele, Georgia, and Lequita (Billy) Williams of Wesley Chapel, Florida; 21 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; her father, Buford (Cora) Royal, Sr. of Cordele, Georgia; her sisters, Dr. Lavern Martin of Seattle, Washington, Queen (Norman) Evans of Birmingham, Alabama and Brenda (Winfred) Green of Cordele, Georgia; her brothers, Buford (Mary) Royal, Jr. of Cordele, Georgia, Nathaniel Royal of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Buford Ross, Sr. of Orlando, Florida; her aunts and uncles, Johnny Royal, Sr., Jim (Louise) Royal and Etta Peacock of Cordele, Georgia, Bertha Castor of Jacksonville, Florida, Beulah Williams and Bobby (Florence) Royal of Miami, Florida; her surrogate daughters, Laura (Andre) Morgan of Palmetto, Georgia and Makeeba Cunningham of Albany, Georgia; her nieces and nephews, to include, Alonzo Graves of Portland, Oregon; a host of cousins, to include, Marie Porter, Willie Oliver and Rashida Booker Fields of Cordele, Georgia and Alger Blount, Jr. of West Palm Beach, Florida; her in-laws, Linda Royal of Warner Robins, Bonnie Harper of Vienna, Georgia and Johnny Rigsby; a host of other relatives and friends, to include, Leila Rogers, Tasha Wellons and Alisa Williams of Cordele, Georgia. She is also survived by her Mount Calvary Hill Holiness Church Family and Pastor Betty Prather.
