On Tuesday, January 23, 1973 a beautiful spirit was welcomed to this world. Born to Jerome Odom and Alma Blackmon, this gift from the Lord was given the name, Delange LeShon.
Delange was born in Cordele, Georgia where the early seeds of education were planted in her life. She was a 1991 graduate of Crisp County High School. Her educational endeavors were continued at Colorado Academy and Colorado Technical University.
A lover of Jesus Christ, she accepted him as her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Faith Deliverance Temple in Hawkinsville, Georgia. A constant encourager and prayer warrior, she served as a mother to the teens.
As an employee of Perdue, she enjoyed special moments with her work family. She participated in the Birthday and Christmas Clubs.
There are so many things that will be remembered about Delange. Her love for her son, who was her "pride and joy," her love for her grandchildren and her love for family were the greatest. She was a great listener and she gave great advice.
On Friday, September 29, 2023, the Lord in His infinite wisdom set her free from the cares of this earthly life. Her father, Jerome; her brother, Jody Spivey; her maternal grandparents, Willie & Lucille Blackman; and her paternal grandmother, Maggie Odum each preceded her in death.
Precious memories will forever be cherished by her loving and caring family; her son, Antravious Blackmon of Columbus, Ohio; her grandchildren, Azariah Blackmon, Antraviyonna Blackmon, Antravious Blackmon, Josiah Blackmon, and Judah Cutter; her mother Alma (Joseph) Spivey of Hawkinsville, Georgia; her sisters, Tomeka Zeigler of Macon, Georgia, Demetrice (Andrew) Oliver of Eastman, Georgia, Orlanta Zeigler of Albany, Georgia, Falishia (Theophilus) Taylor of Snellville, Georgia, Jeena (Clarence) Durham of Cochran, Georgia, Danzier Odum (Cedric) Johnson and Kenya (Spartacus) Wilson of Cordele, Georgia, Catrina Spivey and Telisa (Willie) Hatcher of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Tonya Spivey of Perry, Georgia; her brothers, Entra (Bridgette) Holly-Blackmon of Albany, Georgia and James (Keisha) Zeigler of Hawkinsville, Georgia; a host of aunts and uncles; her godparents, Aunt Mary and Uncle Isaiah Williams of Ft.
