Deacon Roosevelt Troutman of 805 Peebles Road, Rochelle, Georgia, died Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at his residence.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Pine City Baptist Church in Rochelle, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Pitts, Georgia.

Mr. Roosevelt Troutman was born in Rochelle, GA on August 6, 1933 to Beulah Graddy Troutman and Jerome Troutman, Sr. To this union seven boys were raised with Roosevelt being the youngest.

As a young boy, he was educated at White Sox School on Mckinley Farm. He was a mathematical genius. Solving complex problems with mental calculations and teaching that intelligence is not always found in books, but often in life's daily demands.  A firm believer in the power of education, he made it his mission that  everyone of his children along with his nieces and nephews, had the opportunity to learn and grow.

Roosevelt believed that education was the key to freedom and he worked tirelessly to ensure his family participated and had the opportunity to succeed.  He took immense pride in working his land--rising with the sun, working the soil, honoring the tradition of farming, not just as a profession but as a calling.

His commitment to his work only matched his commitment to his faith. As a Deacon and longtime church treasurer, he served with integrity, humility and unwavering devotion.  His life was a masterclass in resilience, fatherhood and leadership.

Roosevelt leaves behind a legacy not measured by wealth or accolades but by the lives he touched and the lessons he taught. His life was a testimony- a living   sermon of faith, family, fortitude, and trust in God.  Often when he was in discussions, he always stated his case and said, "this is what I said and I am through with it!" meaning, this is the final word.

Roosevelt wed Annie Troutman (deceased) on February 27, 1951 and leaves to cherish nine children:  Henry (Pearlye, deceased) Troutman of Rochelle, GA,  Lonnie (Brenda) Troutman of Vienna, GA, Berneice (Bobby) Davis of Abbeville, GA; Diane (Gary) Holmes of West Palm Beach, FL; Shirley (Standup) Strain of Albany, GA; Baby Boy Troutman (deceased); Leonard (Carolyn) Troutman of Perry, GA and  Leon (Linda) Troutman of Raleigh, NC; and  Sheila (Darrell)  Boazman of Rincon, GA; 25 grandchildren, whom he loved: Terry (Casey) Tony (Kim) and Tracey Troutman, Dawn Troutman, Solomon (Kim) Troutman, Kimmy (Lametra) Davis, Kenya (Anthony) Thomas, Bernadette (Tony) Hargrove, Deena (Erwin) Joseph, Dianna, Deanna, and Gary Jr. Holmes, Stan Jr., Bryan (Maria) Craig, Brandon Strain, Stephanie (Anthony) Allen, Micheal  Troutman, Leon Jr., Tyler, Lance, Trevor, and Alexis Troutman, Jessica (Devon) Barnes and Darrell Boazman Jr.; 32 great grands: Ryan and Raegan Troutman, Peyton and Hannah Troutman, Ashton, Luke and Levi Troutman, Amira and Akira Thomas, Amari Hargrove, Destiny (Kejon) Deberry, Gerard (Angie) Davis, Janay Davis, Rodney Green, Jr., Demario Thomas, Adalyn Annie Holmes, Ashantia, Dreshawn, Bryan Jr., Mia, Preston, Craig Jr., Jayden, and Kannon Strain, Samiyah, Achilles, Aziel, and Serenity Allen; Landon, Blair and Synai (deceased) Troutman, Nicolas Barnes; a great, great grand: Harper Strain; four sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law, Geraldine Thomas of Ft.
