Obituary

United States Army Veteran, Deacon Davis Passmore of 206 Bayside Court, Warner Robins, Georgia died Friday, December 22, 2023 at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

Mr. Davis Passmore was born July 28, 1950 in Vienna, Georgia. He was born to the parentage of the late Mr.  Bobby Lee Passmore and Mrs. Richie Mae Taylor Passmore.

He was a long-time member of the Camp Creek  Missionary Baptist Church where he was ordained a  deacon under the leadership of his son Rev. Dr. Christopher S. West.

He was educated in the public school system of Dooly County, Georgia. He was a 1968 Graduate of Vienna High and Industrial School in Vienna, Georgia. After graduation he went on to continue his studies at Albany Technical College. While a student he decided to join the U.S. Army, he served his country in the Vietnam War, later serving in Germany as well as other stateside bases. After his time on active duty, he continued his service with the Georgia Army National Guard in Perry and Hawkinsville, Georgia, once he moved to Rochester, New York he continued to serve with the New York National Guard where he ended his military career with over 26 years of service.

On Friday, December 22, 2023, our most beloved father answered the call from the Lord. He received his wings and went home to be with the Lord. The life, love, and joy he shared will live on forever. His parents and siblings, Mrs. Marsha Perkins, Mr. Robert Earl Passmore, Mr. Mack Passmore, Sr. and Ms. Jerry Dean Passmore and Ms.   Bobbie Jean Passmore, precede him death.

The memories of his life will be cherished by his loving and devoted children, Rev. Dr. Christopher S. West and his wife Mrs. Pamela West of Kathleen, Georgia, Ms. Lalola Passmore Tukes of Jacksonville, Florida, Mr. Patrick Neal of Portsmouth, Virginia, Mr. Tshomba Davis Passmore and his wife Mrs. Montea' Passmore of Rochester, New York and one stepdaughter Mrs. Shondra Westmoreland and her husband Mr. Van Westmoreland of Atlanta, Georgia; three beloved brothers, Mr. Larry Passmore, Mr. Gary Passmore and his wife Mrs. Linda Passmore of Unadilla, Georgia, and Mr. John Passmore and his wife Mrs. Anita Passmore of Greenville, North Carolina; One beloved sister, Mrs. Betty Maynard and her husband Mr. Lewis Maynard of Unadilla, Georgia. Twelve grandchildren and One great grandchild. One aunt, Mrs. Edith Passmore   Bryant of Orlando, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
