On Friday, April 22, 1960, the union of Mr. Horace Holloway, Sr. and Mrs. Minnie Jewel Holloway was blessed with a son. Born in Sumter County, Georgia, he was named James Edward Holloway.
James was a 1978 graduate of Union High School in Leslie, Georgia. While in high school, he was a star basketball player. In 2012 he earned a Bachelor's degree from Albany State University. He did further studying at Columbus State University and earned a Master's degree in 2014.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his country with honor and distinction. During his years of service he earned many accommodations and awards. At the completion of his service commitment, he was honorably discharged. He carried that same dedication to the classroom as an educator. He spent his time in the classroom shaping the minds of students and instilling in them to always strive for the best. Proudly his entire ten year career was spent in the Sumter County School system. He was currently employed as a Campus Safety Officer at South Georgia Technical College.
A believer in God's word, James was a long standing member of the Americus Holiness Deliverance Temple. He was ordained as a deacon and was always willing to help advance God's kingdom.
A huge sports fan, he spent a lot of time enjoying all sports. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with his pet rottweiler, Czar and his pet parrot, Tupac. James will be lovingly remembered for his awesome sense of humor and his excellent skills on the court "back in the day".
On Friday, January 12, 2024, our beloved completed his earthly journey.
