Obituary

Deacon Robert D. Cladd, Jr. of 255 Pheasant Drive, Americus, Georgia passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Antioch Baptist Church in Americus, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Eastview Cemetery in Americus, Georgia.

Deacon Robert D. Cladd, Jr. was born on February 8, 1961, in Americus, Georgia, to the proud parentage of Mrs. Lillie Mae Taylor Cladd and the late Mr. Robert D. Cladd, Sr. He was affectionately known to his family and friends as "Junior."

Robert proudly graduated from Americus High School in 1978.  He later went on to earn his certificate in welding.

He met and married the former Jennifer Gay and their union was blessed with four children, Ra'Donna, De'Andra, Ta'Sharla, and Korey.

Deacon Cladd was a member of the Inspirational Church by Faith and had served faithfully until his health began to fail.  He had previously been a member of the Eighth United Holiness Church.  Blessed with a beautiful voice, he was a wonderful gospel singer and had sung with Spirit Led Gospel Group for a short period of time.

On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the cares of this life were eased and he was set free.  Cherished memories will forever live in the hearts of his loving and deacon wife, Mrs.Jennifer Gay Cladd of Americus, Georgia; his loving and   devoted children, Ms. Ra'Donna D. Cladd of Americus,    Georgia, Ms. De'Andra P. Cladd of Atlanta, Georgia, Ms. Ta'Sharla D. Cladd of Americus, Georgia, and Mr. Korey L. Cladd of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren; his loving and devoted mother, Mrs. Lillie Mae Cladd of Americus, Georgia; his loving sisters, Mrs. Glenda (Marvin) Newberry of Brandon, Florida, Ms. Carol Holder of Americus, Georgia, and Mrs. Sibrena (Torrence) Laney of Parrott, Georgia; his caring brothers, Minister Ricky (Veranda) Cladd of  Americus, Georgia and Deacon Dexter E. (Trisa) Cladd of Americus, Georgia; his aunt, Mrs. Elnora Girven of Americus, Georgia; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; his nephews, Deacon Rodney Johnson of Americus, Georgia, Minister St. Anderson of Plains, Georgia, and Minister Lloyd Thomas of Americus, Georgia; a host of cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
