Deacon Willie C. Kendrick of 699 Alligator Road, Unadilla, Georgia died Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the home of his daughter in Fairburn, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Monday, March 18, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Unadilla, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Mount Moriah Church Cemetery in Unadilla, Georgia.
Deacon WillieC. Kendrick affectionately known as "C" was born on December 6, 1931 to the parentage of Willie Kendrick and Cora Chaney Kendrick McIntee.
Willie C. was educated in Dooly and furthered his education to become a certified welder. He served as superintendent of Sunday School, Sunday School Teacher, Church Treasurer, and on the Board of Deacons.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents: Willie Kendrick, Cora Chaney Kendrick McIntee, and James McIntee; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Tyme (Nola Mae) Whitehead; his wife, Inez Whitehead Kendrick; his children, Andrew Kendrick and Joshua Kendrick; sons-in-law, Charles Smith and Lucius Hill; his siblings: Lonnie (Wilhemenia) Kendrick, Arthur (Mary) Kendrick, James (Annie) Kendrick, James (Lucille) McIntee, Jr., Clara McIntee, Alice McIntee, Donella McIntee, Betty Walker, Flora (Lorenzo) Foster and Ruth (Jessie) Wallace. His sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Tyme (Ella Mae) Whitehead, Mervin (Cecil) Miles, and Mildred Reese.
God did not promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, nor sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.
Memories of life will be cherished by his children: Carl Whitehead of Henderson, Georgia, Emory (Annette) Kendrick of Macon, Georgia, Clara Smith of Fairburn, Georgia, Bruce (Carolyn) Kendrick of Unadilla, Georgia, Pricenthia Hill of Pinehurst, Georgia, Elnora (David) Harris of Randolph, Massachusetts, Clarietta P. Fields of Americus, Georgia and Shirley Ann James of Warner Robins, Georgia; his siblings: Myral (Barbara) Kendrick of Tampa, Florida, Mary Griffin of Miami, Florida, Mattie Rogers (Willie James) Foster of Hollywood, Florida, Johnny Reese of Unadilla, Georgia, Lermon Phelps of Orlando, Florida; 20 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 58 great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
