He was known as a hardworking man with a generous spirit and a heart big enough to embrace everyone he met. A faithful man of God, he served with dedication and humility, living out his beliefs through kindness, service, and compassion. His love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was immeasurable, and he took immense pride in watching his family grow and flourish.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mamie Kendrick Johnson; his siblings, Mary Teal, Elsie Johnson-Barner, Gloria Anderson, Henry Johnson, David Johnson, Jr., and Patricia Johnson; and his cherished daughters, Cynthia Mumphrey and Sheryl Mapp.

He leaves to treasure his memory his wife, Andrea Barner; his siblings, Annie Felton and Ruby Singleton; and his children, Patricia Barner, Bobby (Tamela) Barner, Charlene (Joseph) LeMay, Tracey Barner, Demetrius (Marie) Barner, Scotty Barner, Joseph (Lanorris) Askew, Jr., and Tellas (Catrina) Askew.

Bobby Barner was a devoted, loving, and steadfast grandfather who wore the title with honor and pride. He adored each of his grandchildren: Roger, Fred, Rufus, Lashuanna, Shanece, April, Sharonda, Chelsea, Shala, Whitney, Tierra, Bobby, Morgan,  Cynthia, Emmanuel, Jean-Pierre, Demetria, Arianna, Simone, Demetrius Jr., Jeny, O'Neal, Nelson, La'Cambrian, Martreceia, Gabrielle, Josef, Andre'ya, Natalia, Kellie, and Kinsley. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every  moment spent sharing stories, laughter, and wisdom.

He will always be remembered for his warm and generous heart, his gentle strength, his steady guidance, and his unforgettable sense of humor. His love and unwavering support for his family created a legacy that will continue for generations. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit, faith, and the values he instilled will live on in the lives of all who knew and loved him.

His life, his legacy, his leadership, and his love will never be forgotten.
