Deacon Freddie B. Buckholts of 22 Benjamin Lane, Abbeville, Georgia, died Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Piney Grove Baptist Church in Rochelle, Georgia.  The burial will follow at Snow Hill Church Cemetery in Pitts, Georgia.

Freddie B. Buckholts was born on June 20, 1952, in Pinehurst, Georgia, to the late Layfield and Eugenia Carter Buckholts. He grew up in a loving family and attended Unadilla Senior High School, where he graduated with fond memories and lifelong friendships.

At an early age, Deacon Freddie Buckholts embraced his faith and chose to follow Jesus. He became a dedicated member of Little Creek Baptist Church. His commitment to his faith was evident as he served faithfully on the deacon board, providing guidance and support to his church community until his health no longer allowed him to do so.

On June 3, 1971, Freddie married Jacquelyn Benjamin, marking the beginning of a long and loving partnership. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter, welcoming a son, Freddie Buckholts, Jr., and a daughter, Erica (Buckholts) Thompson, into their lives. Their marriage was a testament to love's enduring power and the strength of a shared journey.

Deacon Freddie B. Buckholts transitioned to eternal life on December 18, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Adrianne  Buckholts; his parents, Layfield and Eugenia Buckholts; his parents-in-love, Annie Lou Benjamin and Sanford "Bill" Benjamin. His beloved brothers,  L. B. Buckholts, Charlie "Ruck" Henry, and James Buckholts;  his in-laws:  Thelma Scott, Nettie Benjamin, Sanford Benjamin III, Craig Benjamin, Eddie  Anderson, Nathaniel Hudson, and a special niece, Geneva Granville.

Freddie's legacy is carried on by his wife of 54 years, Jacquelyn Benjamin-Buckholts; his children, Freddie (Trimesha) Buckholts and Erica (Frazier) Thompson; his grandchildren, Alexis (Tayluer) Williams, Adjea Thornton, Devontay Buckholts, Jordann Thompson, Brooklyn Thompson, Brianna Gipson, Brady Gipson, Braxton Gipson, Amiyah Buckholts, and Braylon Buckholts; four great-grandchildren; his siblings, Reverend Layfield (Irene)  Buckholts, Jr., and Earlie Mae (Leon) Clayton; his in-laws, Edna Anderson, Ann Hudson, Sanford (Doris) Benjamin, Emery (Dorris) Benjamin, James Benjamin, Ronald (Dot) Benjamin, Ed Brown, Joe (Pauline) Hill, Willie Hill, Vincent Benjamin Michael Benjamin, Tonya Benjamin, Angeline Benjamin, Roderick Benjamin, Eugene (Sylvia) Williams, Dwayne Benjamin, and Chauncey Benjamin; his special nieces, Fontella Benjamin, Lashonda Favors, and Wendy Bailey (Ernest) Foreman, a special nephew, Jerome Emory; a special cousin, Lemmie Buckles; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; his special friends, William Dwight, Mark Harden, Don Woods, Charles Cook, Donald Gibson, and Alfonso Childs; a host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
