Ms. Darlene Jones of 512 West 17th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Wellstar MCG Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

The life story of Darlene Jones  life story began on Wednesday,  September 6, 1961, in Cordele, Georgia, when her parents lovingly welcomed her into this world. Lonnie B. and Pauline Jones. She was affectionately known to her family and friends as "Doll." Her father and her brothers, William, Lawrence, and Larry, each preceded her in death.

Darlene began her educational journey in the Crisp County Public School system. She proudly graduated from the Crisp County High School in 1979. Desiring to continue her education, she further studied at Meadows College and Darton College in 1991.

She expressed hope in Christ and united with the St. Paul Presbyterian Church.

Darlene, a loving mother and grandmother, will be remembered for her caring nature and her willingness to always help those in need. Never one to meet a stranger, she enjoyed socializing with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She committed herself to be a continually active part of their lives. Growing up around her brothers also enhanced her knowledge of sports. A sports fanatic, she was a "sports mom" who always supported her sons in their sports endeavors.

For many years, Darlene was employed at Wal-Mart Supercenter. Her caring disposition allowed her to be an outstanding associate with both customers and co-workers. She also shared her customer service skills as a long-term employee of Professional Touch. In years later, she excelled in her quest to be a cake baker.

The final lines of Darlene's life story were penned on Sunday, November 3, 2024. Her legacy will be one of love, care, and joy. Sorrowfully acknowledging her passing, but joyfully reflecting upon her life, she leaves many wonderful memories to her cherished and adored mother, Pauline Jones of Cordele, Georgia; her beloved and caring sons, Cedric J. (Zhabrina) Mobley, Sr., Waltavius L. Mobley, Sr., Jesston J. (Tramiska) Jones, Sr., and Jeffrey J. Rogers all of Cordele, Georgia; 22 adored grandchildren; one great grandchild, Kioriah Hubbard; her loving sisters, Brenda Jones and Denise Kendrick both of Cordele, Georgia; her caring brothers, Nathaniel (Sue) Rhodes of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Wayne Barner, Kennedy  Robinson, and Ralph Barner all of Cordele, Georgia; her uncle, Charlie Ross, Sr. of Cordele, Georgia; 16 nieces and nephews; her loving cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends, to include, Mr. & Mrs. George Hamilton and Family of Fort Valley, Georgia, Johnnie Mae Smith, The Wilson Family, Lovette R. Johnson, Jacqueline Holton, Rosalind Oliver Montford, and Latrice Oliver.
