Mrs. Darlene Woodson Buckholts of Vienna, Georgia died Friday, October 27, 2023 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 4:30 PM in the sanctuary of the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Unadilla, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Vienna City Cemetery in Vienna, Georgia.
The union of the late Mr. Robert Lee Woodson, Sr. and the late Mrs. Audrey Lou Jean Woodson was blessed with the birth of a daughter on May 26, 1963. Our beloved Darlene Woodson Buckholts was born and raised in Dooly County, Georgia.
Early in life she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with the Holly Grove Baptist Church. She remained a member and served until her passing.
She received her education from the public school system of Dooly County. She completed her course of study and graduated in 1981 from Vienna High School.
Darlene loved to be around her family and she loved to cook. She spent other moments completing crossword puzzles, watching Soap Operas and Western movies. She also enjoyed dancing.
On Friday, October 27, 2023 she completed her earthly journey. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Ms. Delores Woodson, Mrs. Dorothy Gates, and Mr. David Woodson.
Many wonderful memories of her life will be cherished by her loving and devoted family: her children, Mr. Demario Buckholts, Sr. of Albany, Georgia, Mr. Keontis (Jalicia) Buckholts and Ms. Cyntouria Buckholts both of Vienna, Georgia; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; her sisters, Mrs. Barbara (Eddie) Wallace of Killeen, Texas and Mrs. Betty McClendon of Vienna, Georgia; her brothers, Deacon Robert (Mae) Woodson of Vienna, Georgia, Mr. Bobby (Mary) Woodson of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Lorenzo (Vallery) Woodson of Vienna, Georgia and Mr. Willie James (Debra) Redding of Austell, Georgia; her aunts and uncle, Mr. Joshua Woodson and Mrs. Shirley Woodson both of Vienna, Georgia and Mrs. Bertha Woodson of Pinehurst, Georgia; a close friend, Mr. Willard Walker of Cordele, Georgia; a devoted friend, Ms. Lisa Williams of Loganville, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews; many cousins; other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
