Mrs. Daphne Elaine Martin-White of 115 Finegand Place, Warner Robins, Georgia passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Houston Healthcare in Warner Robins, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of Word In Season Ministries in Warner Robins, Georgia.  The burial will follow at Staley Memorial Garden in Americus, Georgia.

Daphne Elaine Martin-White, born June 21, 1962, in Flushing, New York, was the first child of James L. Martin and the late Pastor Jessie Dean Martin. Daphne grew up in Springfield Gardens and attended New York City public schools. Graduating from August Martin High School in 1980, she went on to earn her Associate's and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Sociology from LaGuardia Community College and College of New Rochelle, respectively.

Faith played a central role in Daphne's life from a young age. Baptized at Tabernacle of Praise in Americus, Georgia, she remained active in church, joining Word in Season Ministries after relocating to Warner Robins, Georgia.

A nurturer by nature, Daphne had a genuine desire to empower others to reach their full potential. Dedicated to her profession, she worked for the New York City Sheriff's Department for 13 years and retired after serving 21 years with the Georgia Department of Family Services.

Strength and unwavering faith defined Daphne. She met her husband and best friend, Al White, while working in New York City. Their love story spanned 35 years, filled with cherished moments with their children, Donovan and Ashley, who were her world. In 1998, Daphne and her family relocated from New York to Georgia.

Throughout her life, Daphne exemplified grace and resilience, facing life's challenges with a heart full of love and an unyielding spirit. She found joy in life's simple pleasures and took immense pride in motherhood and her family's accomplishments. Daphne loved to laugh, listen to music, watch her favorite shows, and spend time with family. Humble with a great sense of humor, she was always authentic and kept it real.

Daphne departed this life peacefully on July 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She is now resting in eternal peace in the comforting arms of the Lord. Daphne leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

Daphne is survived by her husband, Al White; children, Donovan "Donny" and Ashley; father, James L. Martin of Perry, Georgia; four siblings, Erika Martin-Kearney (Wilson) and Angela Martin, both of St. Albans, New York, James Martin, Jr. (Michelle) of Greenwich, Connecticut, and Dr. Vicki Myers (Dave) of Monroe, Connecticut; brother-in-law, James "Juice" White (Francesca) of Orange County, New York; four aunts, Nelda Scarlett of Sullivan, New York, Juanita Ingram of Far Rockaway, New York, Dessie Floyd of Americus, Georgia, and Wilhelmenia Martin of Petersburg, Virginia; and a host of nieces and nephews, who she adored, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Jessie Dean Martin and brother-in-law, Joe White.

In Daphne's memory, let us carry forward her spirit of kindness, love, and unwavering faith. Daphne's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family, and she will be remembered always.
