Mrs. Cynthia Ann Bloom Mathis of 725 Church Avenue, Byromville, Georgia, died Monday, June 23, 2025, at her residence.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the New Poplar Spring Baptist Church in Byromville, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Forest Chapel Church Cemetery in Pinehurst, Georgia.

Cynthia Ann Bloom Mathis was born on July 14, 1960, in Dooly County, Georgia, to Cornelius and Odessa Bloom. A cherished daughter, she grew up surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. Cynthia attended Vienna High School in Vienna, Georgia, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with dedication, kindness, and service to others.

Cynthia was a devoted member of New Poplar Spring Baptist Church in Byromville, Georgia. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, influencing her actions and interactions with everyone she met.

Cynthia had a passion for working with youth, dedicating her time and energy to supporting and nurturing the next generation. Her love for community extended to helping others, and she found great joy in designing and creating, which allowed her to express her creativity and compassion. Cynthia's professional life was marked by her role as the HR Director at the Middle Flint Behavioral Center. She was respected for her dedication and commitment to her work, leaving a lasting impact on her colleagues and the organization.

As a beloved wife and mother, Cynthia cherished every moment spent with her family. Her grandchildren, affectionately known as her "princesses," were the joy of her life, and she loved to spoil them with affection and attention.

In her leisure time, Cynthia enjoyed playing games on her iPad, watching soap operas, and taking family vacations. These activities provided her with relaxation and an opportunity to connect with her sisters, with whom she shared a close bond.

Cynthia traded the cares of this life for eternal life on June 23, 2025,  leaving behind a family filled with love and memories. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Willie B. Mathis, Jr., and her sister Linda Bloom Johnson.

Cynthia Ann Bloom Mathis's life was a testament to love, faith, and dedication. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on through her loving and devoted husband, Willie B. Mathis, Sr. of Byromville, Georgia; her loving and devoted  children, Tanganyika Mathis of Byromville, Georgia, Lakesha Mathis of McDonough, Georgia, Demetrius Mathis (Marsenia) of Powder Springs, Georgia, and Cindy Mathis of Tifton, Georgia; her grandchildren, Brianna Mathis of Vienna, Georgia, Maisyn Mathis, and McKinley Mathis of Powder Springs, Georgia, each of whom carry  forward her spirit as her cherished "Grandma Princesses;" her loving sisters, Canorris Slaughter, Sandra Brown, and Mary Oglesby of Byromville, Georgia and Tiffany Mathis of Vienna, Georgia; her brothers-in-law, Larry Johnson, Lonnie Mathis (Mercie), Henry Mathis (Mary Frances), and Ronnie Mathis (Betty); her sisters-in-law, Elois Bernard, Edna Spivey (Jeff),   Geraldine Jones (Robert), Felita Bryant (Eric), Annie Merritt, and Nellie Howe; her nieces and nephew, Jessica Oglesby Veal (Jermarcus), Theartis Oglesby, Se'deyrius Hicks (Daphney), Jacquez Hardrick, Tanijah Ford, Ke'Ayjah Gaston, and Markevion Riggins; a host of cousins, other  relatives and many sorrowing friends.
