Mrs. Connie Calloway Anthony of 107 Apple Blossom Lane, Americus, Georgia died Sunday, June 16, 2024 at her residence.
The graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Staley Memorial Garden in Americus, Georgia.
Mrs. Connie A. Calloway Anthony was born on December 27, 1955, in Americus, Georgia. She was the daughter of Mrs. Ozie Mathis Calloway and the late Mr. Freddie Calloway, Sr. of Saginaw, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her brother, Mr. Freddie Calloway, Jr.
Educated in Americus public schools, Connie was a 1974 graduate of Americus High School, Americus, Georgia. At an early age, she joined Big Bethel Baptist Church, North Jackson Street, Americus, Georgia. Connie worked with Davison/Textron Collins and Aikman, Americus, Georgia for over 30 years. She departed this life on June 16, 2024.
Precious memories will be cherished forever by her loving mother: Mrs. Ozie Mathis Calloway, Buena Vista, Georgia; her loving children: Melba Anthony (Rod) Mitchell, Perry, Georgia, LaKendra (Dwayne) Wakefield and Darrell Anthony, Americus, Georgia, and Travis Anthony, Columbus, Georgia; ten devoted grandchildren, to include her loving and devoted grandchildren, Trevor (Danielle) Holmes of Cordele, Georgia, Saige Wakefield of Athens, Georgia, Brooklyn and Phallen Mitchell of Perry, Georgia, and Kierra, Tierra, and Sierra Anthony of Columbus, Georgia; three great grandchildren; loving siblings: Stevie M. Calloway, Dublin Georgia, Belinda Calloway (Larry) Ware, Rex, Georgia, Shelia Calloway (Kelvin) Raven, Hope Mills, North Carolina, Robert Calloway, Sr., Unadilla, Georgia, and Mary Ann Calloway Neal, High Point, North Carolina; loving nieces and nephews: Stephanie Calloway (Jarvis) Tyson, Oglethorpe, Georgia; Sheena Calloway, Warner Robins, Georgia, Courtney Ware (Chris) Lett and Brandon (Jenna) Ware, Scottdale, Georgia, Jasmine Raven (Gregory) Haskins, Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, Ryan (Taylor) Raven, Hope Mills, North Carolina, Corey (Allyson) Raven, Mooresville, North Carolina, Erin Raven (Lavon) Wynn, Morrisville, North Carolina, Shayeedah Calloway (Milton) Perkins and Robert (Tatyana) Calloway, Jr., San Antonio, Texas; Deborah Calloway, Morey Elby and Shay Elby, High Point, North Carolina; other nieces and nephews also survive; one loving aunt: Margaret Mathis, Americus, Georgia; cousins who were like sisters: Michelle Mathis Paramore, Red Oak, Texas and Tanya Mathis, Douglasville, Georgia, and a host of other cousins and friends also survive.
