United States Army Veteran, Mr. Collie Will Harper, Sr. of 305 Brookdale Drive, Americus, Georgia died Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia.

The memorial service will be held Friday, March 25, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at the Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, Georgia.  Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at The Village Hall, 111 West Church Street, Andersonville, Georgia.

Leola "Sister" Sims' baby boy, Collie Will Harper, affectionately known as "Sadie" was born August 29, 1954, in Americus, Georgia. He met his beloved wife Ann during a chance encounter at Sumter Regional Hospital and after a flirtatious interaction, the two exchanged numbers and the rest is history. They were blessed with two amazing children Collie Jr. and Ashley, and a grandson Shiloh "Harper" Smith born in 2018. In addition to Ann and his children, he leaves to mourn his passing his siblings Marilyn Thomas, Mary Jane (Arthur) Ward, John E. Harper, Tammie Holmes, and a host of extended family members who will cherish his memories forever.

To say that Collie was a dog person is an understatement. Throughout his life he always had a canine companion that he absolutely adored, and they loved him. He was shy, jovial, and very playful with a zest for life and thirst for knowledge. He graduated from Union High School in Leslie, Georgia in 1972.  Family members recall being at his graduation in awe of the audience erupting with cheers and applause when his name was called to receive his diploma. The theme song at the ceremony was "Lean on Me", by Bill Withers one of his favorites. Collie had a strong influence on the younger generation in the family regarding education, music, and television shows. He was always teaching "life lessons" and his favorite songs and shows became everybody's favorites because they were repeatedly watched and played thousands of times.   Another favorite song was "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay", by Otis Redding and he loved The Andy Griffith Show, Gunsmoke, and Bonanza. He also enjoyed watching Billy Graham's televised programs and he had a massive collection of his magazine and newspaper articles. He stressed the importance of being informed and was truly a walking body of knowledge. He shared insight to cultivate strong morals and values, financial literacy, and politics.

Collie was an Army veteran and after serving his country he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Georgia Southwestern State University. He was a multi-dimensional and determined entrepreneur who carved his own path and achieved an enormous amount of success. Throughout his life, he worked a variety of jobs which included being a Wholesaler for USA today, Insurance Sales, and Social Worker for Middle Flint. He achieved his greatest level of success as a real estate investor and general contractor which will continue to expand as Reprah Real-Estate Investments, LLC.

Collie loved his family and always wanted the absolute best for them. Before departing Collie expressed "I wanted you all to have the best and I was trying to get to the top." He transitioned on March 9, 2022, at Dublin VA Medical Center. The family will cherish his memories and continue to build upon his legacy.
