Mr. Clyde Neal Anthony of 107 Apple Blossom Lane, Americus, Georgia died Sunday, June 16, 2024 at his residence.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Eastview Cemetery in Americus, Georgia.
Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing. A mask must be worn throughout the stay. You must supply your own mask.
Mr. Clyde Neal Anthony was born June 7, 1952 in Sumter County, Georgia. He was born to the late Mr. Cicero Anthony and the late Mrs. Leedecie Neal Anthony.
He received his education from the Americus City School system. At an early age he accepted Christ as his personal Savior. He was baptized at Union Tabernacle Baptist Church in Americus, Georgia under the pastorate of the late Reverend C. J. Gore.
A lover of music, he became a member of the Premier Band of Americus, Georgia at the age of 16. A drummer and Congo player, he became a member of the Impact Band of Americus and Dawson by the time he was 19.
Clyde retired from CSX after 32 years of dedicated service. After retiring, he enjoyed landscaping and detailing cars.
He departed this life on June 16, 2024. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings, Mrs. Jessie Williams, Mr. Robert Killings, Ms. Donna Anthony, Mr. Cicero Anthony, Jr., and Mr. Michael Anthony.
He leaves precious memories to his loving children, Mrs. Melba (Rod) Mitchell of Perry, Georgia, Mrs. Lakendra (Dwayne) Wakefield and Mr. Darrell Anthony of Americus, Georgia, Mr. Travis Anthony of Columbus, Georgia and Ms. Sonya Lamar of Atlanta, Georgia; 13 beloved grandchildren, to include his loving and devoted grandchildren, Trevor (Danielle) Holmes of Cordele, Georgia, Saige Wakefield of Athens, Georgia, Brooklyn and Phallen Mitchell of Perry, Georgia, and Kierra, Tierra, and Sierra Anthony of Columbus, Georgia; three great grandchildren; his loving sisters, Ms. Artie Scott and Mrs. Hilda (Glenn) Williams of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mrs. Janet Jackson of Miami, Florida; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Ozie Calloway; his in-laws, Mr. Fred Calloway, Mr. Stevie Calloway, Mrs. Belinda Ware, and Mrs. Shelia Raven; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, to include, Mr. Wilson Richardson of Hartford, Connecticut.
