Mrs. Clara Jones Royal of 310 East 18th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia died Thursday, March 3, 2022 at her residence.

A private graveside funeral service for the immediate family only will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 at Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.  Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

On October 19, 1937, Clara Jones Royal was born to Eleazar Jones, Sr. and Addie Lou Jones.  Born in Turner County, Georgia, she was one of 12 offspring.

She possessed a loving and caring spirit that was always evident as she went about from one day to another.  Her love for Jehovah was never failing, Clara was a devoted servant of her God, Jehovah.  She fervently studied His word.  Her conviction of those truths was so sure that she dedicated her life to Jehovah.

For many years she was employed by Cordele Uniform Company but her greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother.  She was married to Johnny C. Royal on January 15, 1955 and together they raised a family filled with love and joy.

On Thursday, March 3, 2022, our beloved Clara went to sleep. Her parents and her brothers, Willie, Eleazar, Howard, and Curtis each precede her in death.

She will forever be remembered by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Johnny C. Royal of Cordele, Georgia; her loving and devoted children, Marsha (Bob) Murphy of Conyers, Georgia, Myrtis (Samuel) Deadwyler of Decatur, Georgia, Michael (Susan) Royal of Valdosta, Georgia, Lisa Royal and Miriam Royal of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Timothy Royal of Macon, Georgia, Cathy (Dravian) McGill and Rhonda Royal of Cordele, Georgia, Steven (Monica) Royal of Buford, Georgia, Stacey (Stacy) Royal of Conyers, Georgia, Carlos Royal of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Russell (Anita) Royal of Flowery Branch, Georgia; her beloved grandchildren, Courtney, Kevin, Jhramond, Candace, Catrina, Brittany, Kameron, Johnathan, Brandon, Joel, Kristin, Donovan, Madison, Grace, Jordan, DJ, and Darby; her great grandchildren, Jaylen, Chanel, Tyler, Justice, Tahj, Amaya, and Tavion; her loving sisters, Mattie P. Williams of Tifton, Georgia, Burder Mae Addie of Pahokee, Florida, Addie Lou Jones of Cordele, Georgia, and Susie Thomas of Tallahassee, Florida; her beloved brothers, her twin, Ervin Jones and Arthur Jones both of  Cordele, Georgia, and George (Joyce) Jones of Springfield, Massachusetts; her sisters-in-law, Theron Jones, Clementine Jones, and Naomi Stubbs all of Cordele, Georgia;  a dear friend, whom she regarded as a daughter, Danielle Maccio of Macon, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews, many cousins, to include a special cousin whom she regarded as a sister, Beautie Moore of Columbus, Georgia; other relatives and friends.
