Mrs. Christine Gulledge Leggett of 425 Davis Avenue, Byromville, Georgia died Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.
Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing. A mask must be worn throughout the stay. You must supply your own mask.
Mrs. Christine Gulledge Leggett was born on July 31, 1955 to the late Mr. Ishmeal McCoy and the late Ms. Mary A. Gulledge. She attended Kingsway Regional High School and Rutgers University.
She was employed by Ara Mark as a payroll clerk and Manor Care as a receptionist. She loved baking and cooking great meals for her family and friends. Holidays with her family brought her so much joy.
In 1982 she married Mr. Fletcher R. Leggett, Jr. This union brought to life three children.
On Wednesday, January 24, 2024 she transitioned from this life. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her a granddaughter, Anjanea Williams.
Her memories will be forever cherished by her husband of 52 years, Mr. Fletcher R. Leggett, Jr. and their three children: Ms. LaTonya (Malik) Williams of Camden, New Jersey, Ms. Cybill Leggett of Woodbury, New Jersey, and Ms. LaGeria Gulledge of Westville, New Jersey; her grandchildren, Jakhy Williams, Sh'Mecca Shabazz of Camden, New Jersey and Troy K. Lindsey of Woodbury, New Jersey; her great grandchildren, Makai Watkins, Zakihr Williams and Anjanea Williams of Camden, New Jersey; her sisters, Ms. Beverly McCoy of Ewing, New Jersey, Ms. Lorriane Gulledge of Woodbury, New Jersey, Ms. Patty Ann Gulledge of Camden, New Jersey, Ms. Nicole Powell, Ms. LeKisha Powell, and Ms. Yolanda Powell of Trenton, New Jersey; her brothers, Mr. Steven (Linda) Wilcox of the United States Army and Mr. John (Jacqueline) Gulledge of Raleigh, North Carolina; her sisters-in-law, Mrs. Barbie (Robert) Vessels and Mrs. Selma (Eavin) Dawson of Byromville, Georgia, Mrs. Daisy (Herman) Smith and Ms. Linda Leggett of Lilly, Georgia; her brother-in-law, Mr. Albert Leggett of Lilly, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews, to include a special nephew, Mr. Reginald Leggett, Sr.; a host of cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include her special friends, Ms. Roxanne Tucker and Ms. Joann Jenkins.
