Mr. Christian Tyler Wiley of Auburn, Alabama, formerly of Americus, Georgia, died Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Friendship Baptist Church in Americus, Georgia.  The burial will follow at Staley Memorial Gardens in Americus, Georgia.

Christian Tyler Wiley departed from this earthly life on August 31, 2024, at the age of 25. Though our grief is profound, we are deeply proud and blessed to have known and loved such an extraordinary individual.

Born on February 20, 1999, at Sumter Regional Hospital in Americus, Georgia, Christian was a beacon of kindness, joy, and inspiration. With his infectious laughter and positive spirit, he dedicated his life to making the world a better place. His optimism and zeal for the future were boundless, motivating his family and friends to chase their dreams and fulfill their potential. Christian felt a strong sense of duty to leave a meaningful impact on the lives he touched, generously giving his time, love, and support to those around him.

Christian grew up in Leslie, Georgia, radiating the warmth and energy of a small-town country boy. Summers were spent swimming, riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes, picking plums from his grandmother's tree, and attending vacation Bible school at Welcome Baptist Church, his home    congregation. A talented swimmer, Christian was also a member of the Americus Blue Tide swim team. He attended The King's Academy until 2010 when he and his mother relocated to Auburn, Alabama.

Christian approached his pre-teen and teenage years in a new city and state with fearless determination, a true reflection of his maturity and resilience. He graduated from Auburn High School in 2017 and embarked on his academic journey at Southern Union Community College in Opelika, Alabama, where he earned an Associate of Science degree in Biology in 2018. His thirst for knowledge led him to the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where he continued to thrive. In the spring of 2024, he achieved the remarkable honor of making the President's List with a GPA of 3.75+ while managing over 15 credit hours. Christian was pursuing a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences, focusing on Exercise Physiology, Chiropractic, and Family and Child Development within the Department of Kinesiology. He received numerous accolades, including Intern of the Month, a travel award to the  Kinesiology Development Conference, and the prestigious Franklin Jack Lynn Scholarship, recognizing his outstanding academic performance and community service. He was set to graduate in May 2025, with plans to pursue a doctoral degree in Biomechanics by Winter 2026.

Christian's collegiate journey was marked by his internships and volunteer work with organizations such as Prestwick Community Outreach, Lee County Youth Development Center, South Georgia Food Bank, Boy Scouts of   America, Auburn University, University of Alabama Black Student Union, and Legacy Chiropractor of Huntsville. His future was bright, with career opportunities from institutions like the Vegas Golden Knights, Yuma Regional Medical Center, Holland College in Canada, Zimmer Biomet in Seattle, and the University of Alabama Athletics Department. He had also earned a coveted internship with the Milwaukee Bucks for the 2025 basketball season. Christian also achieved the prestigious Eagle Scout honor from the Boy Scouts of America. His ambition and dedication were unparalleled, and his family remains certain that he would have continued to excel in every endeavor.

Christian had a deep love for travel, often exploring the world with his mother and family, both domestically and internationally. His adventurous spirit and passion for swimming reflected his zest for life. Christian was not only an  inspiration but also a mentor and friend to many. His compassion and love for others were evident in everything he did, and his presence made a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Christian Tyler Wiley will be profoundly missed, but his memory and the joy he brought to our lives will never fade.
