Mrs. Charlie Mae Holt Colson of 496 Lamar Road, Americus, Georgia, died Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Summer Hill Rehab & Senior Living in Perry, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 2:30 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. A mask must be worn throughout the stay. You must supply your mask.
Mrs. Charlie Mae Colson was born in Sumter County on April 16, 1956, to the parentage of the late Mr. Charles Holt Sr. and the late Mrs. Josie Mae Carter Holt. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. She attended Whole Truth International Ministries.
Charlie Mae transitioned on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Deacon Dan Colson, her son, Johnny T. Merritt, her grandson, Michael Atkins, and her mother, Josie Holt. Her hobbies included shopping for flowers, beautifying her yard, cooking, vacationing, and spending time with family.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and supportive daughters, Elder Pamela M. Harvey and Mrs. Kimberly M. (Eric) Barrett, three bonus daughters, Mrs. Tonya Sparks (Bubba), Mrs. Matoshia (Deacon Michael) Haugabrook, Ms. Katrina Colson (Kema), five grandchildren, Ladarian Merritt, Mattendrick Gibson, Keyonna Walker, Kierston Harvey, and Kaylon Harvey, five bonus grandchildren, Tyeshia Alexander, ShenCuria Sanders, Dejour Colson, Duran Brown, and Zakiya Colson, five great grandchildren, three loving sisters, Evangelist Levonia (Raymond) Lockett, Mrs. Gussie (Richard) Franklin, and Mrs. Carolina (Eric) Pittman; two devoted brothers, Minister Charles (Daphne) Holt and Mr. George (Patricia) Holt; three sisters-in-law, Ms. Vanester Colson, Mrs. Brenda (Greg) Fedrick, and Ms. Ruby Colson all of Cordele, Georgia; an aunt, Ms. Meland Holt-Hawkins of Americus, Georgia, an uncle, Mr. James Carter of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a host of cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
