Obituary

United States Army Veteran Mr. Charles Edward Harmon of 1512 South Pecan Street, Cordele Georgia died Thursday, December 30, 2021 at his residence.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM at J. W. Williams Funeral Home Porte Cochere in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.  Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

Charles Edward Harmon was welcomed with joy and love to this world on September 25, 1961.  He was born  to Mr. Silas Harmon, Sr. and Mrs. Maggie Coleman Harmon in Crisp  County, Georgia.

Known to his family and friends as "Willard", he was educated in the public schools of Crisp County.  After earning his high school diploma, he enlisted in the United States   Army.  He served his country with honor and distinction.  Upon the completion of his commitment to the military, he was given an Honorable discharge.

As a child, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and became a member of the Beulahland Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia.

A loving father, he adored his daughter.  His dog, "Blackie" was also a special part of his life.  Willard will be remembered as a giving individual who was always smiling.  He loved music and was even taking music lessons at Southern Music.  A very clean individual, he referred to his home as his "Comfort Zone."

His favorite saying was "Peace Out!" and on Thursday, December 30,  2021, he peacefully said goodbye to this world.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Maggie Coleman Harmon; his grandparents, Ms. Sally Mae Shine, Mr. Leroy Parker, Mr. Seahart Harmon, Sr. and Mrs. Geneva Harmon.

His life will be forever cherished by his loving daughter, Ms. Vorkesha Harmon of Cordele, Georgia, his beloved father, Mr. Silas Harmon, Sr. of Cleveland, Ohio; his loving sisters, Ms. Dorothy Harmon and Ms. Cassandra Harmon both of Cordele, Georgia, Mrs. Erika (Richard) Hardemon of Ellenwood, Georgia, and Mrs. Jane Everett of Stafford, Virginia; his caring brothers, Mr. Silas (Denise) Harmon, Jr., Mr. Jeffery Harmon, and Mr. Tony (Shonterria) Harmon all of Cordele, Georgia; his aunts and uncles, Mrs. Evette (Alvin) Adams, Mr. Willie (Ruby) Coleman, Mr. Walter Frank Coleman, Mrs. Willie Pearl Reid, and Mrs. Jessie Kate Harmon all of Cordele, Georgia, Mrs. Catherine Taylor, Mrs. Clara Pearl Putmon, and Mrs. Ossie B. Coley of Cleveland, Ohio; a host of nieces and nephews; many cousins other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
