Obituary

Mrs. Celestine Virginia Duhart Woodson of 807 Grant Street, Vienna, Georgia died Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Perry Hospital in Perry, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Haynesville Baptist Church in Elko, Georgia.  The burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery.

On January 2, 1937, our beloved Celestine Virginia Duhart Woodson was welcomed to this world.  She was born in   Houston County, Georgia to the late Delzia Duhart and the late Betty Mae Brown Duhart.

She received her education from the Houston County Public Schools.

After moving, she united with the Overcome Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey.  She served faithfully as a member of the Nurses Aide, Pastor's Aide and choir.  Upon her return to Georgia, she re-united with the Haynesville Missionary    Baptist Church in Elko, Georgia.

While living in New Jersey she was employed by Two Guys Department Store and Howard Johnson's for many years.

She loved listening the Blues.  Two of her favorite singers were BB King and Clarence Carter.

On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, her earthly life's journey was completed.  Along with her parents, her beloved husband, Reverend Eugene Woodson and her son, Willie T. Duhart, each preceded her in death.

Many wonderful memories of her life will be cherished by her loving and devoted children, Tracy (Curtis) Mowatt and Rangele Woodson-Johnson (Frank) Johnson of Irvington, New Jersey, LaSandra Foster of Perry, Georgia, Tonja (Darrick) Woodson of Vienna, Georgia, Warretta (Chris) Cook of Albany, Georgia and Dwayne Chambers of Elizabeth, New Jersey; 16 beloved grandchildren, Eugene, Natesha, Thaddeus, Delzia, Kevin,  Kabir, Assamad, Akie, Alsaquan, Amir, Jaela, Sha'ziyah, Kristyonna, Rahmeek (Mildred), Tyieya (Chavorrian), Daphne (Zachery) and Darius (Kathy); 19 great grandchildren; her loving sister,  Norma Taylor of Elko, Georgia; her beloved brothers, Ronnie Davis of Hawkinsville, Georgia and Lonnie Boone of Atlanta, Georgia; her aunts, Estella Duhart of Warner Robins, Georgia and Corrine Duhart of Delray Beach, Florida; her godmother, Alice West of Unadilla, Georgia; her godchildren, Lisa, Korties, Belinda, Shatonia and Shannell; two sisters-in-law; one  brother-in-law; a host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends survive to include  Kimberly Pridgen of Unadilla, Georgia, Betty McClendon of Vienna, Georgia and Cora Argo of Pooler, Georgia.
