Mrs. Carrie Belle Jones Johnson of 1307 East 8th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia died Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 24, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at the J. W. Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

A beautiful and loving soul was gifted this world on April 30, 1944 when Carrie Bell Jones Johnson was born to the late Mr. Joe W. Jones, Sr. and the late Mrs. Rosie Lee Walker Jones.  Born in Dooly County, Georgia, Carrie was raised by her father and loving stepmother, the late Mrs. Callie R. Jones.

She was educated in the public schools of Dooly County.  She completed her education at the Vienna High & Industrial School.

Her walk of faith was demonstrated as she went about her life from day to day doing what she could to help others.  She believed in the Lord, Jesus Christ and she served him with steadfast love at People of Faith Christian Church.

A life committed to the service of others, she worked many years for the West Central Georgia Community Action Council.  Later she was employed by the Crisp County School System where she worked in the Transportation Department driving Bus #32.

On Sunday, March 17, 2024, she peacefully surrendered to the will of her Savior.  Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. John Johnson and her siblings, Mrs. Sophie Mae Porter, Ms. Ozzie Mae Jones, Mrs. Bertha Mae Gaines, Ms. Bernice Mann, Mr. Joe Willie Jones, Jr., Mr. Willie C. Jones, Mr. James Redding, Mr. Willie Redding, and Mr. J. D. Hinton.

Special memories of her life will forever be remembered by her loving and devoted family:  her stepdaughter, Ms. Caniece Reese of New York; her sisters, Mrs. Mattie (Apostle Morris) Jones, Dr. Bobbie (Elder Johnny) Mason, and Mrs. Betty Jones Lockett all of Cordele, Georgia; her brother, Mr. Eli (Elaine) Jones of Virginia; a host of nieces and nephews, to include a special nephew, Mr. Morris "JJ" Jones, Jr. of Iowa; her god    children, Ms. Monet Fulmore and Mr. Kelvin Fulmore of Cordele, Georgia; of Cordele, Georgia and Ms. Quinise Reese-Talmadge of New Jersey; a host of other relatives and friends, to include, Ms. Beverly Reese and Ms. Patricia Fulmore of Cordele, Georgia.
