Obituary

Mrs. Carolyn Luvone Howard McDaniel of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Eastview Church of Christ in Americus, Georgia.

Carolyn Luvone Howard McDaniel, born on October 22, 1945, in Sumter County, Georgia, to Fred Howard and Leola Marshall Howard, left us on Thursday, December 19, 2024, to join her heavenly abode.

Carolyn's passion for cooking was evident in her expertise in baking caramel cakes, peach cobbler, and million-dollar pies. Her love for the holidays, particularly Christmas and Thanksgiving, brought out her culinary talents, making her kitchen the heart of the celebrations. Affectionately called "Nanty" by her grandchildren, she enjoyed watching them eagerly racing to cut Nanty's cakes.  It truly brought her immense joy. Carolyn will be remembered for her warm heart, delicious treats, and the love she shared with her family and friends.

Her deep faith in God was unwavering, and she was actively involved with the Eastview Church of Christ, finding solace and guidance in the teachings of the Bible.   She often would remind us of the many lessons she had learned from studying God's word, by saying, "It's in the Bible."

Carolyn had a passion for singing and selflessly helped those around her. Known for her straight-talking nature, she was like the "Madea" of the family, offering honest advice and words of clarity to anyone seeking her wisdom. Carolyn's legacy of love, faith, and truth will forever be cherished by those who were touched by her presence.

Her legacy will remain near to the hearts of her loving and devoted children, Dareyell (Ira) Howard of Mancherster, CT, LaShonda (Orlando) Bell of Carrollton, GA, Karron (Brenda) McDaniel of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Keyetta (Thomas) Lockhart of   Douglasville, GA; her devoted grandchildren, "Man"(Mayah) of Lithia Springs, GA, Chardonnay Morgan of Smyrna, GA, Tyjaye' Lockhart of Ft. Mill, SC, KeAja Lockhart, KeAry Lockart, Thomas "TJ" Lockhart of Douglasville, GA, Dareyell (Angie) Ash, Denea (Chad) Ross, and Denell (Reggie) Battle all of Hartford, CT; nine great grandchildren; her sister, Geraldine (Stafford) Richards of Plains, GA; her brothers, Clinton Marshall of Manhattan, NY, James Marshall and Lawrence (Shirley) Marshall both of Plains, GA, and Raymond Marshall of Americus, GA; a beloved niece, Sherrie (Donate) Small of Americus, Georgia; a devoted friend, Ida  Lampkin of Americus, Georgia; a host of  other relatives and friends.
