With love and joy, Carolyn Renee Brooks was welcomed to this world on Monday, November 27, 1972 in Cordele, Crisp County, Georgia. She was born to Oscar and Carry Dean Brooks.
Carolyn possessed a special light and her light lovingly shines as she embraced the learning opportunities afforded her as a student in the Crisp County School System. A 1991 graduate of Crisp County High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in 1996 from Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama. In 2018, Carolyn received her certification in Teaching and Learning from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia.

A gift to all who knew her, Carolyn left a mark with those she came in contact with. As an Assistant Principal and CTAE Director at Dooly County High School, she was dearly loved and respected by the staff, the students and the Bobcat family. She served as a grant writer for the Dooly County School System as well as the CEO/CFO for the College and Career Academy.
She was an active member of MBKC/MSKC-Cordele and willingly helped in many capacities. She was also a member of Georgia Association of Educators (GAE).
Carolyn's radiant light will forever shine in our hearts. We are comforted that while our world became a little dimmer on Friday, February 18, 2022, her eternal light will never fade. Her father, Deacon Oscar Brooks, Sr. and her grandparents, Mrs. Agnes Jackson, Mr. Huey Brooks, Mrs. Beulah Grant, and Mr. Henry Johnson, Sr., precede her in death.
