Ms. Carlita Elaine Lewis of 1317 Drayton Road, Cordele, Georgia died Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Piedmont Medical Center in Macon, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

A special gift was welcomed to this world on September 6, 1962, when Carlita Elaine Lewis was born in Cordele, Crisp County, Georgia.  She was born to the late Mr. Arthur Smothers and Ms. Lola B. Lewis.

Carlita received her education from the schools of Crisp County.  She was a 1980 graduate of Crisp County High School.

A love for God and his people, she fully accepted him as Lord of her life.  She was a member of Holy Evangelistic Temple of God.

Carlita possessed a smile and personality that could never be forgotten.  She was a loveable person who would give the shirt off of her back to anyone.  A hard worker, she never met a stranger and loved to interact with people.

Her greatest joy and love was for her family.  She instilled in all four of her children how much she loved and would always love them.   She always reminded them to put God first in everything they did.

On Saturday, December 9, 2023, our special gift God peacefully slipped away. We will forever love and cherish every moment spent with her.  Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Mr. Joerenthus "Orvin" Lewis and her twin, Mr. Carlus "Dewayne Lewis.

Her life and love will be remembered by her loving and devoted children, Mrs. Tamiko Lewis Hardeman (Craig), Ms. Chiquita Hill, Ms. Tiffany Lewis, and Mr. Carlus Lewis all of Cordele, Georgia; her adored grandchildren, Ms. Shynecia Hardeman, Ms. Nydrekia Davis, Ms. Malique Lewis, Ms. Niytesia Simmons, and Mr. Craigory Hardeman, Jr. all of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Jonqurious Green, Ms. Karissa Hill, Ms. Jayla Hill, and Mr. Zyquavion Dorsey all of Warner Robins, Georgia; three great grandchildren, Melanie Jackson, Kallie Jackson, and DeQuavien Davis; her loving sisters, Mrs. Valerie Almond (Randall) of Vienna, Georgia, Ms. Sonja Watkins of Albany, Georgia, and Ms.Tammie Lewis of Cordele, Georgia; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
