Obituary

Ms. Carissa Nicole Mann of 1805 Maxwell Street, Americus, Georgia, died Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the sanctuary of The Restoration Church of Americus.  The burial will follow at the Eastview Cemetery in Americus, Georgia.

Carissa Nicole Mann was born on October 28, 1980, in Sumter County, Georgia. She was the daughter of Linda Mann Berry and the late Robert L. Berry. Raised in a loving family, Carissa's roots were deeply planted in the community of Americus, Georgia, where she attended the local public schools and proudly graduated from Americus High School in 1999.

Carissa was a vibrant soul whose presence was always felt by those around her. A member of the Allen Chapel AME Church in Americus, she found joy in dancing, listening to music, and spending precious moments with her family. Her grandson, Legacy, was a particular source of delight, and she often engaged in playful antics with her sister, Valerie, recalling their childhood games of playing teacher and Supermarket Sweep. Carissa had a penchant for pranks and shared an inseparable bond with her mother, Linda, whom she affectionately called her "ride or die" and best friend.

Her favorite treat was Skittles, and she was known for her  infectious sense of humor and love for social media, where she enjoyed going live on Facebook to share messages and videos. Carissa's home was a haven for music, shopping, dancing, and family cookouts, particularly with her beloved children and  grandson, Legacy.

Carissa Nicole Mann transitioned on Friday, December 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unyielding joy. Her life was a testament to the strength of family bonds and the joy of living fully. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Jazmyne Ke'Azia Michelle Boyce (Gregory Sims) of Albany, Georgia, and Jayla Maliyah  Boyce-French (Riyana French) of Warner Robins, Georgia; her cherished grandson, Legacy Brown; her devoted mother, Linda Mann Berry of Americus, Georgia; her sisters, Valerie Shanterri Forrest of Hampton, Georgia and Lakaisha Brown, of Dublin, Georgia; her aunts and uncles: Shelia Terry (Tom) of Albany, Georgia, Ethel Lewis (Willie), and James Mann of Florida; her great aunts, Ruth Taylor and Ola Baisden; her niece and nephews, Azariah Forrest, Ameerion Forrest, and Ja'Corian Carter all of Hampton, Georgia; her devoted cousins, Tameka Harper, Taneka Harper, Demetria Harper, and Wanda Thomas; the father of her children, Michael Boyce; a host of other relatives and many friends, including Shanekia Jones, Tanesha Griffin, Jamison Lester, Travis Williams, and her Class of '99 classmates.
