Mrs. Brenda Brown Martin of Dallas, Georgia died Monday, March 28, 2022 at Wellstar Tranquility at Cobb Hospital in Austell, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 3:30 PM at the A. S. Clark Auditorium on the campus of the M. D. Whitest Medical Institute in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.  Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

The 23rd Psalm was Sister Brenda's favorite passage of scripture that she lived by and quoted daily.  Brenda A. Brown Martin was born October 10, 1957 in Cordele, Georgia.  She was born to loving parents, the late Deacon Thomas Atkins, Sr. and Bernice Wade Atkins.

Brenda let her life reflect the faith that she had in God.  Fear nothing and pray about everything.  Brenda was a God-fearing servant of Christ and at an early age, she began her work in Church and the Community. She directed Christmas/Easter plays and programs, directed various singing groups, an avid Sunday school teacher, speaker and a mighty prayer warrior.  The work she did for the Lord was limitless!

Brenda was educated in the Crisp County School System and was a 1975 graduate of Crisp County High School.  She continued her educational quest and received her Bachelor's degree in Education from Brewton Parker College in Mount Vernon, Georgia.  She also received various certificates in Business and Leadership.  Brenda was best known for her employment at Cato Fashions. She also had the opportunity to own her own business, worked for Farmers Furniture and was formerly employed by the Crisp County School System.

On March 28, 2022, Brenda's final chapter was written and her earthly journey ended. Brenda was uplifting, fun-spirited and had an infectious personality that was far reaching. She is also preceded by three siblings: Rosa Stokes, Thomas Atkins, Jr., and Richard Atkins.

Along with her love for Christ, Brenda also loved her  family.  Her life, love and laughter will forever live on in our hearts.  Brenda leaves to cherish her memories, three children:  Erica (Reginald) Walker, Cornoris Brown, and Jamaco Brown, two grandchildren:  Davonn Fields, Jr., and Michael Walker; her former husband and devoted supporter, C. J. Brown;  six sisters:  Johnnie (Earl) Butler, Ruby Dell Atkins (Rufus) Carter, Mary (Buford) Royal, Antionette Hurley, Marquita Green, Catherine Massey, and Geraldine (Charles) Putman; three brothers: Charles (Judy) Atkins, Sr., John (Gwen) Atkins, Sr., Ricky (Shaquita) Atkins.  She is also survived by many loving extended family members, her godchild, Jasmine; her  nieces and nephews; many cousins, loyal friends, and her current spouse:  James  Martin that will forever love and miss her.
