Mrs. Billie Ann McDonald Hall of Oglethorpe, Georgia died Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 12:00 Noon in the sanctuary of the Magnolia Baptist Church in Montezuma, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Mt. Pleasant/Travelers Rest CME Church Cemetery in Montezuma, Georgia.

Billie Ann Hall was born to the late Willie Frank "Buddy" McDonald and the late  Ella Mae Haugabook on January 16, 1948 in Athens, Georgia. Billann was parented, loved and spoiled  by her grandmother, the late Lizzie Hall, of Montezuma, Georgia.

"Billann" was educated in the Macon County School System and graduated with the D. F. Douglas High School Class of 1966. After graduation Billann matriculated to New York City to live with her father.  She was employed by the New York City Board of Education and while working, she received her certification in Early Childhood Education.

While in New York she met and married John Wilkerson.  This union was blessed with two children, Joseph and Calandra.  After living in New York for a number of years, Billann returned to Montezuma to care for her grandmother.

Deciding to stay in Montezuma, Billann worked as a healthcare provider for the Montezuma Nursing Home.  Although she loved caring for geriatric patients, her love for children led her back to work in the field of education with the Sumter County School System where she would retire from Staley Middle School.  Many lives were touched by the love and care she gave while working with the children of Sumter County.

Her work was not finished. It was time to start another project, being a fulltime grandmother. She loved her grandchildren: Lee, Kirenski, Delvecchio, Dakota, Jai, Suai, Shanita, Shadonna, Donaya, and Darnell, Jr.

Billann was a loving mother and grandmother; nothing was more important than her family.  There was never a conversation she had with anyone that she did not dote on her children, grandchildren and son-in-law. She was a walking marketing representative for the J. W. Williams Funeral Home.

Billie Ann joined Mount Pleasant CME Church as a young child and never waivered in her steadfast love for the Lord and the people of God. Upon her return to Georgia, she continued her service to the Lord at the Harrison Chapel Baptist Church.  After much prayer she was led by the Lord and she united with Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Hosie Waters.  Over the years she would remain a  faithful    member of the church serving as a member the choir and culinary staff.  She could always find time to cook a pot of collard greens and share them with others.

On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, she traded the cares of this life for a life of everlasting joy.  She is preceded in  death by two of her precious angels, Delvecchio and Dakota.

Forever cherishing her life, her love and the joy she imparted are her children, Joseph Wilkerson of Oglethorpe, Georgia and Calandra Wilkerson Parker (Arthur) of Cordele, Georgia; her stepson, Darnell Baldwin of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren whom she loved and cherished: Kirenski Wilkerson of Atlanta, Georgia, Jai' Parker of Cordele, Georgia, Suai Wilkerson of Macon, Georgia, Lee Hayes, Jr. of Perry, Georgia, Shanita Redding, Shadonna Jones (Lamar), Donaya Baldwin, and Darnell Baldwin, Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her special "sister-cousins" Shirley Gordon of Rochester, New York, Yolande Haugabook of Albany, Georgia, LaTrelle McKellar of Loganville, Georgia, Patricia Haugabook of Decatur, Georgia, and Eunice "Beth" Walden of Lithonia, Georgia.

She is also survived by her nieces and nephews including two special nieces: Vera Mathis of Cordele, Georgia and Leigh Flournoy of Albany, Georgia;  her special cousins, Sheronda Abbott of Perry, Georgia, Rasheeda Fields and Denise Coleman of Cordele, Georgia; her godchildren: Reverend Glenn & Mrs. Deborah Bryant of Americus,  Georgia, Tony (Collie) Walker of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Jolan Hannah and Chase "Eli" McClendon of Montezuma, Georgia, and Syreeta Killings of Cordele, Georgia; a host of relatives and friends to include her special friends:        Jaffalyon Isreal, Margaret McCants, Mamie May, Wendy Hannor, Sue Kelley, Easter Mae Sanders and Dr. Alicia Ritchey.
