Mrs. Betty Jean Childs Miller of 1229 Railroad Avenue, Rochelle, Georgia died Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at her residence.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Piney Grove Baptist Church in Rochelle, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Piney Grove Cemetery in Rochelle, Georgia.
Mrs. Betty Jean Miller (Bet) was born on June 28, 1945, in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the parentage of Lillie Mae Childs and Eddie Alexander.
She attended Queensland School in Fitzgerald, Georgia
She enjoyed spending time and talking with family. She also enjoyed picking pecans and peas. She worked as a housekeeper for several years at Abbeville Nursing Home.
She passed away peacefully in the comfort of her residence on September 6, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents (Lillie & Eddie); her husband (Willie Frank "Man" Miller, Sr.) her sister (Janet Childs), and four brothers, Ulysses Lumpkin, Raye Childs, Isiah Childs, Sr., and Willie Childs Sr.
She leaves her cherished memories to her four daughters: Shikita Miller (Torian "Man") Coley, Donna (Willie, Sr.) Moore, Willa (John) Thompson, Gladys (Bobby, Sr.) Grace; four sons: Willie Frank Miller Jr. (Simone), Jackie (Linda Faye) Miller, Quincy Miller, and Darius (Natalie) Miller; 25 grandchildren, including five special grands, she raised, Wendy Childs, Jelisha Youngblood, Darien Miller, Darmesha Miller, and Shanquisha Coley; 44 great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; She has two living sisters: Barbara Benjamin (her twin) and Faye (Willie "Cheetah") Holmes and two living brothers: Eddie Childs and Johnny B. Childs. She has two additional bonus babies: Ivory Jean Childs and Isiah Childs whom she loved dearly.
Additionally, she has two special cousins: Queenie Mae Ferguson and Friendly Miller; five close friends: Gloria Hunt, Regina Lawson, Bertha McAdoo, and Dorothy Emory all of Rochelle, Georgia.
