Mrs. Annie Ruth Brown Oliver of 109 Grindstaff Drive, Bonaire, Georgia died Sunday, January 23, 2022 at her residence.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 4:00 PM at the J. W. Williams Funeral Home Porte Cochere in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at Little Poplar Spring Cemetery in Byromville, Georgia. Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
The union of the late Mr. Dan and Mrs. Mattie Lou Reese Brown was wonderfully blessed with the birth of a daughter, whom they lovingly named, Annie Ruth. She was born August 27, 1932 in Pinehurst, Dooly County, Georgia.
She received her early childhood education at the Red Hill Church School in Dooly County, Georgia.
Early in her life she accepted the Lord, Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and united with the Red Hill Baptist Church in Pinehurst, Georgia. She later united with the New Poplar Spring Baptist Church in Byromville, Georgia.
When not growing and grooming flowers or planting a garden, she loved to play her guitar for entertainment. She also loved to fish.
On Sunday, January 23, 2022, our loving mother peacefully slipped away and went to a place of peace and rest. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Sam Henry Oliver, Sr.; her daughter, Ms. Mattie Pearl Oliver; her siblings, Mrs. Leola Butts, Ms. Louise Brown, Mr. Tommy Brown, Mr. Freddie Brown, and Mr. Johnnie Brown.
She leaves precious memories to her loving and devoted children, Mrs. Mary Oliver Butler of Bonaire, Georgia, Deacon Sam (Brenda) Oliver, Jr. of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Daniel Izell Oliver of Byromville, Georgia, and Ms. Angela Oliver of Oglethorpe, Georgia; her loving grandchildren, Mr. Cedric Pierre Butler of Bonaire, Georgia, Ms. Latoya Butler of Warner Robins, Georgia, Mr. Brian Butler of Atlanta, Georgia, Ms. Samieka Oliver of McDonough, Georgia, Mr. John Edward Joiner, Jr. of Fort Valley, Georgia, and Mrs. Camesha (Mike) Morgan of Cordele, Georgia; 11 great grandchildren; her loving sisters, Ms. Mattie B. Brown of Warner Robins, Georgia and Mrs. Gennie Mae Smith of Dooling, Georgia; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Hettie K. Oliver of Byromville, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
