Obituary

Mrs. Angela Deloris Riggins Sanders of 301 West Woodard Street, Vienna, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Lilly, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Vienna City Cemetery in Vienna, Georgia.

Angela Deloris Riggins Sanders, affectionately known as "Kat," was gifted to this world on October 18, 1967, in Dooly County, Georgia.  She passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, at Crisp Regional Hospital.

Born to Willie James Riggins and Goldie Mae Laston Riggins, Angela was educated in the public schools of Dooly County, where she attended Dooly County High School.  She obtained her CNA certification from Job Corp in Kentucky.

Angela possessed a strong and unshakeable faith in Jesus Christ.  She was a faithful member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Lilly, Georgia.

Angela worked at Tyson Foods for 28 years and was known for her dedication and hard work.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first. Angela absolutely loved and adored her grandsons; she would do anything in her power to make them happy.

Her kindness, generosity, and love for others will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.  Precious memories are left to her husband, Lewis Sanders of Vienna, Georgia; her daughters, Chiquita Sanders and Diquita Sanders of Vienna, Georgia; her step children, Jessica Brown of Clewiston, Florida, Clenshae Sanders of Columbia, South Carolina, and Zafavious Cotton of Kathleen, Georgia; her grandsons, Noah Almond and Mason Sanders; her mother, Goldie M. Riggins of Houston, Texas; her stepmother, Rosie Lee Riggins of Vienna, Georgia; her sisters, Dorothy Riggins, of Neillsville, Wisconsin and Tiffany Sheppard of Dallas, Texas; her brothers, Tyrone Riggins and Dexter Riggins of West Palm Beach, Florida, Gerald (Debra) Riggins of Lawton, Oklahoma and Spencer (Tara) Riggins of Houston, Texas; her aunt and uncle, Charlie Latson, Jr. of Morrow, Georgia and Dorothy  Merriweather of West Palm Beach, Florida; 14 sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews; many cousins, to include, Geraldine Mathis of Vienna, Georgia and Felicia Riggins of Byromville, Georgia; a host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends.

Angela is preceded in death by her father, Willie James; her sister, Lorraine Riggins; her brother, Willie R. Riggins; and her grandparents, Abe & Mendora Riggins and Charlie & Willie Mae Laston.
