Obituary

Mr. Alexander Demetris Carter of 227 Pine Street, Atlanta, Georgia, died Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your mask.

On November 23, 1969 a handsome baby boy was born in Crisp County to the union of Lois Lawton Carter and Alexander Carter. He was named Alexander Demetris Carter.

Alexander went by the nickname Shed from his family and the name Zeek from his friends. He played basketball at A.S. Clark Middle School and graduated from Crisp County High School in 1989. He then relocated to Atlanta where he worked for A-National Limousine Service for nearly 30 years. He was a Philadelphia Eagles fan but also enjoyed watching the Atlanta Falcons.

He leaves memories to his wife Kecia Robinson Carter of Morrow, Georgia; his loving and devoted children, Mr. Cameron Carter, Mrs. Alexis (Tyrone) Mitchell of Cordele, Georgia, Ms. Kelsia Carter, Ms. Loera Carter, Mr. Marquavis Carter of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mr. Ethan Carter of Morrow, Georgia; his precious grandchildren, Mr. Charles Doster, Jr. and Miss Raeyana Green of Cordele, Georgia; his loving brother, Mr. Derek Carter of Cordele, Georgia; his loving sister, Mrs. Valencia (Frederick) Royal of Perry, Georgia; his aunts and uncles, Mrs. Barbara Roberts, Ms. Shirley Epps, Ms. Rosa Epps, Ms. Betty Epps of Cordele, Georgia, Ms. Dawndolyn Epps of Perry, Georgia, Mr. Ervin Lawton of Miami, Florida, Mr. F. D. (Claudette) Lawton, Mr. Sammy Epps, Jr., Mr. Roman Epps of Cordele, Georgia, Ms. Elinor Mumphery of Union City, Georgia, Ms. Catherine Massey of Atlanta, Georgia, Mrs. Doretha (Ralph) Collins of Ocilla, Georgia, Dr. Vielene (Robert) Ray of Albany, Georgia, Mrs. Brenda Faye (Bobby) Fenn of Rex, Georgia, Mr. Willie Carter of Westbury, New York, Mr. Joseph Carter of Gray, Tennessee, and Mr. Roosevelt (Sharon) Carter of Atlanta, Georgia; a special and devoted friend, Ms. Charlotte Walker of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, to include the Class of 1989.
