Mrs. Alberta Brown Troutman of 302 West 15th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia died Saturday, December 9, 2023 at her residence.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Alberta Brown Troutman was born in Eastman, Georgia on December 9, 1926.  She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Calvenia Brown. She attended school in Dodge County.

She was devoted to studying with the Jehovah's Witnesses before she became ill and could no longer attend.

She worked as a homemaker, caretaker, baby-sitter, housekeeper, and she also worked in the fields.

Her greatest joy above all else was raising her children and grandchildren.  She also enjoyed cooking, cleaning, gardening, sewing, painting, and going to flea markets.

On Saturday, December 9, 2023, her 97th birthday, she transitioned from this life.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Abraham Troutman, Sr.; her son, Willie Walker, Jr. and her 11 sisters and brothers, Leona Wiggins, Ruby   Butler, Ella Mae Paul, Beatrice Clark, Willie Lee Williams, Yvonia Brown, Obie Brown, McKennly Brown, Robert Ford Brown, Jesse James Brown, and Andrew Brown, Jr.

Her memory will live in the hearts of her loving and devoted children, Georgette Keels, Miami, Florida, Mary Terry (Elbert), Cordele, Georgia, Joan Rivers (Gregory), Warner Robins, Georgia, Abraham Troutman, Jr. (Carolyn), James Troutman (Lavern), and Katrena McKenzie all of Cordele, Georgia; a host of grands and great grands.

She also leaves precious memories to her sister, Barbara Mitchell (Freddy), Cordele, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
